Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within North Ayrshire Drug and Alcohol Recovery service, for a Recovery Development Worker. As a Recovery Development Worker you will draw upon your own personal lived experience, knowledge and skills to support vulnerable people within North Ayrshire. You will support the implementation and roll out of Scottish Government's Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards, by being part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing assertive outreach and recovery orientated interventions, that will assist to reduce harm to people who suffer from drug and alcohol related issues. You will promote person centred care, within a human rights based approach to recovery, on a one to one and group setting. You will have the opportunity to participate in North Ayrshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP) lived experience panels and to collate experiential feedback from clients, which will promote and enhance service improvement and delivery. Training and support will
be provided, to enhance your own personal development and skill base.

Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by North Ayrshire Council. Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant PVG check (£59 or £18), which will be deducted in instalments from your wages following commencement of employment.
