Full Job Description

This will be a field-based position with your primary role being to support the Group Health & Safety Manager by assisting with the continued development, maintenance, monitoring and reviewing of our Safety Management arrangements. Due to multi-site responsibilities, this role may involve overnight stays, so the ability to be flexible is a must.   • Encouraging and monitoring the compliance of our safety policies and procedures
  • Updating and maintaining each site's location-based Management System
  • Assisting with the development of risk assessments and associated safety information
  • Providing support, advice, recommendations to sites on all matters relating to health and safety
  • Completing site based health and safety audits
  • Carrying out accident investigation
  • Manage annual health and safety projects
  • Ensuring emergency evacuation compliance

    Here at British Garden Centres, we are looking for someone with a genuine interest in health and safety who has the desire to forge a new career in this specialised field. The role is also ideally suited and open to those newly NEBOSH qualified.,
  • Will be prepared to work towards gaining the NEBOSH General Certificate (if not already held)
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good management and/or mentoring skills
  • Exceptionally organised
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to provide timely and justifiable solutions to a range of health and safety issues
  • Computer literate in MS Office suite
  • Be trustworthy, reliable and able to consistently meet deadlines and commitments
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence as the role involves multi-site travel and as such, we are pleased to offer a car allowance
