Full Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Regional Responsible Business Managers to support the development and implementation of our company's regional Responsible Business strategy. The successful candidates will champion sustainability, fair work and governance while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. They will manage the delivery of Responsible Business within their respective regions at project and company level, collaboration with their regional counterparts and report directly to the Head of Responsible Business.

As the Regional Responsible Business Manager, you will build on our collaborative ethos by supporting existing partnerships and creating new ones with clients, the value chain, and local communities. Through these relationships, you will ensure our projects are delivered sustainably and ethically, aligning closely with our commitment to fulfilling client visions.

In this role, you will be instrumental in unlocking the full potential of the Responsible Business Team and our projects, surpassing client expectations and adding value to society through innovative and sustainable practices. Your approach will enhance project outcomes and leave a lasting positive impact on communities and the environment, supporting our vision of a more equitable and sustainable future.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and champion the implementation of the company's Responsible Business strategy, policies, and programs in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory

  • Provide expert guidance to the company, team members and business partners in the design, delivery, and reporting of best-in-class project Responsible Business initiatives to achieve contractual and regulatory compliance.

  • Identify training needs of the Responsible Business Team, the company, and business partners. Support the development and delivery of appropriate training.

  • Monitor and evaluate performance metrics, audit and support correction of non-conformances in peers, track progress against targets, and prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.

  • Lead cross-functional projects and teams to integrate Responsible Business and sustainability principles into business operations, including supply chain management, project development, and corporate governance.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and employees, to raise awareness of Responsible Business goals and promote a culture of responsibility and accountability.

  • Establish partnerships and collaborate with external organisations, NGOs, TSOs, government agencies, and industry associations to advance Responsible Business initiatives and address social, economic, and environmental challenges.

  • Act as a brand ambassador to promote McLaughlin & Harvey and the construction and engineering industry, ensuring sustainable growth by inspiring the next generation and challenging non-traditional construction stereotypes. Advocate for construction as a viable career option.

  • Support team members to design and manage engagement programs, philanthropic activities, and corporate volunteer initiatives to positively impact local communities and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), sustainability, and corporate governance, and incorporate relevant insights into the company's Responsible Business strategy.

  • Represent the company at award and tender interviews, industry conferences, forums, and events to showcase achievements, share best practices, and build relationships with key stakeholders.

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in Responsible Business, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), Corporate Social Responsibility, sustainability management, preferably within the construction industry or a related field or sector

  • Demonstrated understanding of ESG principles, sustainability frameworks, and reporting standards.

  • Proven experience in people management and team development.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to independently lead cross-functional teams, prioritise tasks, and manage competing deadlines effectively.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build consensus, influence decision-making, and drive positive change.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful initiatives, driving measurable impact, and promoting a culture of corporate responsibility.

  • Proficiency in reporting, auditing and data analysis tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration platforms.

  • Flexibility to travel occasionally and work extended hours as needed to support initiatives and project requirements.
