Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for band 5 RMNs, to become a part of the nursing team, in our Adult Acute Admissions ward, based at Stratheden Hospital, Cupar. Fife

This is an exciting and energetic role, for individuals who are passionate about person centred, recovery focused and holistic care approaches. The values of NHS Fife are an integral part of all that we do in Lomond ward. The role is fast paced and ever changing and the variety of the role will keep things fresh and stimulating. The successful applicant(s) will become part of a supportive team, with effective management, whom are relatively newly developed and continues to grow. The management team are receptive to innovative and new ideas, to enhance the patient journey and promoting and leading toward excellence in care standards. The management team will provide supportive and nurturing team integration and actively promote clinical supervision within the ward. We do require highly motivated and committed nurses, to complement and enhance our established and dynamic team. The nursing team are part of a wider MDT and you must have ability to work within this and be aware of challenges this can hold. We are looking for candidates who want to make a real difference to the people you deliver care to. You must possess sound communication skills and be passionate about helping those with acute mental health concerns.

You will be a qualified RMN, with a flexible approach and want to work in a team that encourages new ideas and be receptive to feedback, on how to improve the service.

You will be confident or be willing to develop in confidence, to enable managing a wide range of situations whilst liaising with other professionals, to provide the best possible care to service users within the ward, whilst ensuring a whole care approach.

You will be enthusiastic about working within an ever-changing environment and one which is evolving and improving.

You will work in a fully multi-disciplinary team to provide varied and comprehensive interventions.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Hiring Manager.
