Full Job Description

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients. The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision. The post holder may be required to demonstrate procedures to and supervise registered and/or unregistered staff, as well as student nurses. Duties may vary with the type of ward / department and the degree of patient dependency Additional required after 2 years Post registration The post holder will direct, coordinate and supervise, where appropriate, the work of other staff within the ward or department to promote best practice in relation to patient care In the absence of the senior charge nurse/team leader, or deputy, the post holder will provide cover to ensure effective operation of the ward /department, Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence. From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings. NHS Lanarkshire will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Lanarkshire is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so.

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
  • The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
  • Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology, Educated at degree level in a Health related subject
  • Previous acute experience
  • Previous Radiology Nursing experience
  • The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with ability to work using own initiative
  • Have expanded knowledge and practice in relation to Radiology Nursing
  • IT systems knowledge of Patient trac, Hepma and Lims
