Full Job Description

Royal London is seeking a Release & Configuration Analyst who will contribute to the end-to-end release activities required to support RLG Software Development Lifecycles. Whilst following the ITIL framework and best practices to ensure all application changes to Production are prepared and delivered in a controll and efficient manner. The analyst will collaborate closely with other areas of the Engineering function to identify opportunities for improving or redesigning the change process for greater efficiency. This includes leveraging technology to automate deployment processes or environment creation and enhancing our workflows by reducing handoffs and dependencies. Throughout, the focus remains on ensuring that application changes are prepared and delivered in a controlled and auditable manner into Production. About the Role

  • Contributes to all aspects of the end-to-end release process, ensuring a structured approach aligned with both DevOps and traditional software delivery methods.
  • Supports release planning at the portfolio level, ensuring appropriate automation for deploying system changes to controlled environments.
  • Ensures that risk events are reported and investigated according to RLG policy, and that ITIL Release and Configuration Management principles are followed to meet service levels and quality measures.
  • Builds strong working relationships with internal customers and stakeholders, including developers, application and infrastructure specialists, project delivery teams, and service managers.
  • Demonstrates practical experience in managing software releases, understanding the full software development lifecycle, different delivery methodologies, source code management, CI/CD pipelines, and ITIL Service Delivery best practices.
  • About You
  • Ensure that Risk Appetite statements are well understood and applied within the business area, controlling, and mitigating key business risks to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Regularly test key controls, report, and investigate Risk Events according to the Risk Event & Escalation process, and apply risk management techniques in daily activities.
  • Undertake all mandatory training, follow all risk and data governance policies (including GDPR), and ensure that any identified risks are managed according to current policies.
  • Produce regular risk reports demonstrating effective management, ensure control frameworks are tested with improvement plans implemented, and ensure no significant unknown risks are identified in Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit reports.
  • Develop and submit scenarios and stress tests to GR&C to aid in capital calculations, ensuring that risk-themed reviews do not identify any material unknown risks or weaknesses.
