Full Job Description

As a Relief Chef you will be based on the BaxterStorey support team. The role will be to work in various locations when required to help with busy periods, overseeing large events and functions holiday & sick cover, mobilisations and presentations.   • Supporting, guiding and leading the wider Patch team across the region
  • Covering holidays and sickness across the patch
  • Live and breathe the BaxterStorey Ethos and support in igniting our Chef teams passion
  • Plan, prepare, cook and present food to the standards required
  • Ensure that the company's reputation for excellent food and service is enhanced with the client and customers.
  • Control portion size and monitor waste
  • Ensure supplies are correctly issued, used and accounted for to carry out stock takes and food rotation procedures
  • Maintain records relating to food production activities and supplier information
  • Ensure Health and Safety and Food Safety Standards are maintained in line with company policy
  • Set objectives and be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen
  • Assess employee performance and recognise training needs and potential as appropriate.

  • Proven experience in a chef manager role
  • Contract catering background within busy locations
  • Excellent creative culinary skills
  • Leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relations skills
  • Proficiency in food cost management
  • Knowledge of food safety and health and safety regulations
  • Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
