Relief Social Care Worker

Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
£15.85 / £16.56 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate

Aurrida House provides a wide range of high-quality support services for children with additional support needs and their families. This includes part week residential support for school placement, residential and day respite, short breaks, a home-based support service, and an emergency provision.

Aurrida House is seeking a caring, diligent person to join our committed team. You will provide social and personal care on a relief basis to children and young people with additional support needs. You must be able to evidence a commitment to the care of children and have preferably, experience in the field of additional support needs. We are looking for someone who holds a strong sense of professionalism and who is familiar with the standards of care required by the Care Commission.

You should hold relevant qualification such as the HNC / SVQ 3 combined award in Health and Social Care (Children & Young People) to meet the registration requirements of the SSSC or, where this is not held, there is a requirement to achieve relevant qualification(s) within 5 years of appointment.

You are required to register with the SSSC, as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults, within 6 months of appointment.

You will be provided with regular supervision and training opportunities to enhance your existing skills.

This post is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children and adults.
