Full Job Description

The Renal Unit at Raigmore hospital is looking for an enthusiastic band 4 renal assistant practitioner to join our dedicated team to deliver high quality care for outpatients attending for in hospital dialysis and inpatients requiring dialysis in the renal unit and ward areas.  

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a haemodialysis setting, be highly motivated and demonstrate commitment to SCQF level 8 education and training as part of SVQ programme. The successful applicant will have undertaken competency based training in a dialysis setting and must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisation skills. Education at SCQF level 7 or above would be an advantage but not essential as SVQ training in the renal speciality will be provided via qualified SVQ assessors in the department.

Part time hours may be considered for the right applicant.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
