Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to join the Renal Team in NHS Fife. This is a dual role and will predominately be   based within the Renal service at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate holiday dialysis for patients wishing to travel either within the UK or abroad and support the renal team by carrying out general, administrative and housekeeping duties to ensure smooth running of the unit. They should be able to work under their own initiative and deal with an environment that is constantly changing.

We are looking for someone who is caring, an excellent communicator and possess good organisational and IT skills.

You will be based in the Renal Unit, but may also be required to carry out duties within the Renal Service.

Hours of work are currently 08 00 15.00 or 12.00 19.00 Monday to Friday, but this can be subject to review and the ability to be flexible is essential.

If successful in your application, you will be offered the opportunity to undertake an SVQ2 or SVQ3 (dependent on band) in Health and Social Care, approximately 9 months after taking up post. It is expected that you complete this qualification, which will be fully funded by NHS Fife. Your Line Manager will provide you with more information once you are in post.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Hiring Manager.
