Full Job Description

As a Repair Technician, you will be responsible for the incoming repair of factory returned gas analysis equipment, carrying out the repair and full test of the units prior to being returned to the field.,

  • Carrying out of repair and test of field returns which could involve the following:
  • Maintain a repair tracking system to log all work and failures
  • Work with the Service Team Leader to set up reasonable repair times and metrics and work to meet and beat them
  • Feedback to design teams on all failures of our products to aid continuous improvement
  • Maintain the work area to a safe and clean status, working to ESD procedures where vital
  • Disassembly, parts replacement, and full reassembly of the returned units
  • Carry out component test of lasers and detectors when required
  • Optical alignment of gas sensor sub-components including optical cells and laser modules
  • Full system test of repaired production gas analytical equipment
  • Be an active member of the team, supplying ideas for continuous improvement at all levels within the company.

    This role requires an individual who can work on their own initiative, diligent, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate results and observations in both written and verbal forms. You will have close interaction with multiple disciplines across the company, including Manufacturing, Instrumentation, Engineering and Service., Customer focus driven with the capability to efficiently and accurately handle complexed tasks. You will adjust communication content and style to meet the needs of our diverse collaborators. Familiarity with working under deadlines and in a target driven environment. You model as self motivated with a positive can do demeanor, reliable and are comfortable working in a changing environment, Relevant degree/diploma in electronics
  • Technically proficient, and able to use scientific equipment
  • Self-directed and motivated in a team environment
  • Quick to learn and adapt to new situations and environments
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and oral reporting
