Research Assistant

Part time, 22.5 hours per week

Grade 6 (£31,387 - £36,924 pro rata)

Fixed term for a period of six months

The University now seeks to appoint a Research Assistant.


The role is part of a funded project with The Carnegie Trust titled “The health-related quality of life and wellbeing benefits of golf for children and adolescents with disabilities” led by Dr Graeme Sorbie, Professor David Lavalee, Dr Rhiannon Lord and Dr Ashley Williams. The project is designed to enable an evidence-based approach to promote the movement of golf for the disabled (G4D) for children and adolescents.


Reporting to the research team, you will be involved in collecting data, analysing data, and assisting with the dissemination of the findings. The Research Assistant will work closely with the research team to ensure that the project is completed effectively and within time constraints.


The role requires:

  • Experience of quantitative and qualitative data collection
  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to be proactive, productive and to work effectively alone and as part of a team
