Full Job Description

Salary Range: £37,174 - £45,413

FTE: 1.0 (35 hours/week)

Contract: Fixed (12 months)

Closing Date: 04/04/2025

Applications are invited for an experienced postdoctoral researcher to join the cold-atom quantum technologies team at the University of Strathclyde to undertake research in developing atomic platforms for quantum sensing.

The successful applicant will be based in the Department of Physics under the supervision of Prof. Paul Griffin, within the Experimental Quantum Optics and Photonics group at Strathclyde, working in collaboration with researchers developing atomic sensors. Candidates will have a PhD in experimental atomic physics (or equivalent), and practical experience of development of platforms for atomic sensors. Technical knowledge of compact, agile-frequency lasers is essential. An ability to prepare scientific publications and present research outcomes at local, national and international research meetings is expected.
