Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate to join our dynamic research team as the R&D Governance and Quality Co-ordinator. This is an exciting opportunity for a person who would thrive in a varied and vital role and is looking to add to their skillset. Experience in working in research management and administration would be advantageous.

The post holder has the specific remit of ensuring that all research in NHS Forth Valley is subject to the appropriate governance processes and quality oversight. They will undertake the review of new studies seeking approval in NHS Forth Valley and the review of amendments to ongoing studies. They will also lead on the development and delivery of the risk-based monitoring of research sponsored by NHS Forth Valley, and the quality oversight of other studies, to provide assurance that the rights and safety of participants are being protected and to ensure the quality and integrity of the data generated. This activity will cover studies from start-up to closure and archiving.

In addition, the postholder will be responsible for coordinating the development, review and dissemination of all R&D Policies, SOPs and WIs, delivering all related training; for the management of the R&D Quality Management System and will act as line manager for R&D administrative staff.

The duties included in this role provide a genuine prospect for networking and engaging with a number of departments across the Health Board to enable the post holder to develop their skills and knowledge of the wider Health Board setting.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to complete a Standard Police Act Disclosure Scotland Check.
