Position

An opportunity has arisen for a Research Nurse at University Hospital Crosshouse but will work across the organisation supporting the Research & Development team and multi- disciplinary healthcare providers to promote patient participation in clinical Trials in both University Hospitals Crosshouse and Ayr.

What you will do:

Activities will include supporting and monitoring of research participants and the collection and documentation of accurate research data. You will have a specific remit to ensure recruitment targets are met and there is adherence to agreed protocols for clinical trials supporting both commercial and non- commercial studies hosted by NHS Ayrshire & Arran.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

Research experience within clinical trials is desirable but not essential, however you should have a basic knowledge of research principles, including confidentiality, informed consent, randomisation procedures, and ethical issues.

Attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, good IT skills and a methodical approach are key requirements along with a proven ability to work as part of a team.

First Level Registered Nurse with relevant clinical experience or relevant experience demonstrating the appropriate competencies and skills for the job and clinical setting.  

Educated to degree level (or working towards).

25.9 per week

Fixed Term/Secondment:

Please note this job is a fixed term/secondment for 18 months.
