Full Job Description

You have an opportunity to join our busy Revenues Service. You will assist the public by delivering an enquiry service and undertake the efficient levying, collection, registration, billing and recovery of local authority revenue and administration of all local authority benefits including Scottish Welfare Fund. Amongst other duties you will be required to

  • Assess and process Council tax and housing benefits and rent allowance claims
  • Assess and process claims for crisis and community care grants
  • Process housing rents in accordance with house letting information
  • Review benefit cases in accordance with legislative requirements and revenues policy
  • Identify overpaid benefits and possible fraud cases
  • If you do not hold the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV) technician/certificate qualification required for this post you could join us as a Trainee Revenues Officer and undertake a course of study leading to the IRRV certificate qualification. Trainee salary placement would be relevant to level of qualifications starting from £25,847.88.

    Jobholders must hold the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation qualification at technician/certificate level Trainee Revenues Officer You must have at least 3 Standard Grades or equivalent, including English and Maths.     Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £28,984.95 per annum.
