Full Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our growing fintech business as a Risk & Compliance Associate, working with all levels of stakeholders and all departments to ensure we are compliant in every aspect.

You will also be supporting the development of the compliance function, using your sound knowledge of financial crime, governance and risk management.

The Role

As a Risk & Compliance Associate, you will be responsible for co-ordinating and supporting the compliance function in matters such as governance, risk, training, compliance monitoring, incident management, business continuity and AML, with a focus on consumer duty.

You will be involved in staff training and development, along with questionnaires and regulatory attestations. In addition, you will manage complaint outcomes with our Risk & Compliance Manager and updates to the regulations and FCA requirements that our business must follow.,

  • Assisting with financial crime risk queries

  • Managing company secretarial/governance requirements

  • Managing and reporting MI to Risk & Compliance Manager

  • Assisting in the implementation of the company's Risk Management Framework

  • Assisting with complaint outcomes

  • Supporting HR governance

  • Participating in the continued development of the company's KYC, fraud risk and AML processes

  • Assisting with the prevention of financial crime, We actively encourage the generation and development of ideas from all team members to grow the business. We offer hybrid working and have our office in central Edinburgh.

    We would expect you to display:
  • Strong attention to detail, with good analytical skills and a problem-solving attitude

  • The ability to multitask and communicate with different stakeholders at all levels

  • Experience within AML and risk functions, including knowledge of risk indicators

  • Knowledge of industry practices and FCA requirements

  • Investigative attitude, with experience in SiDD/CDD/EDD

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Good MI skills, with experience of reading and reporting accurate data

  • The ability to adapt to new computer systems

  • Training and education skills


  • It would also be beneficial if you have:
  • Fintech experience

  • CAMS/ACAMS certification
