We are looking to recruit two positions at the Dumfries Road service depot. As the 
successful candidates you will undertake a range of road maintenance and 
construction tasks including laying paving slabs and kerbs, concrete and 
asphalt laying, drainage works, temporary traffic management including 
erecting and removing signs, barriers, and cones and other related roads 
maintenance activities. 

You will be required to contribute to the Council’s winter maintenance 
activities such as gritting, snow clearance and responding to flooding. 
Opportunities to gain goods vehicles driving qualifications will be available. A 
valid driving license is highly desirable.

This posts is a permanent contract for 36 hours per week.

The job involves operating a full range of road maintenance plant and 
machinery including rollers, mini excavators, disc cutters, breaker units and 
other small plant.

range of personal protective equipment and ensure the health and safety of 
the public, colleagues and yourself.
