Full Job Description

Neway have a vacancy for a Safer Neighbourhood Officer to join our client based with Belfast Council. This role is starting on the 5th of November working 37 hours a week, initially for a 3 month contract that is likely to be extended.

  • 4 week rotational shift pattern whereby every 4th week they get a Friday to Monday off weekend enhancement night time enhancement
  • Main purpose of job The postholder will be responsible to the Anti-Social Behaviour Officer/ Operations Coordinator and will work as part of a team responsible for the efficient, effective and economic delivery of a community safety neighbourhood service; including regular enforcement operations to prevent and reduce antisocial behaviour, on-street drinking and environmental crime. To carry out all activities in accordance with specified quality, quantity and time targets. As part of the overall safer city priority, the postholder will:
  • Enforce relevant legislation with a view to reducing incidents of antisocial behaviour, on-street drinking and environmental crime.
  • Work in, and with, local neighbourhoods to resolve community safety problems; providing a visible and accessible presence offering support, guidance and advice.
  • Support the council and the (D) PCSP in the delivery of services aligned with their strategic and operational priorities.
  • Provide prompt resolution to low-level community safety issues such as graffiti, dumping, on-street drinking.
