Full Job Description

To assist in the implementation of the Safety, Health and Environmental strategy across the company and drive continuous improvement. Day-to-day tasks will include:

  • To engage with employees and teams across the business to drive the SHE performance.
  • Provide clear and accurate advice to all employees and management to help fulfil their SHE responsibilities.
  • To provide statistical data for SHE Manager on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of SHE management system.
  • Assist the SHE Manager in the development of the organisation's SHE culture.
  • Undertake SHE Inspections, internal audits and relevant training and assessments required by the business.
  • Project work as required and to perform other duties assigned by Line Manager.
  • Collect, analyse, and create safety data sheets, method statements, COSHH assessments, risk exposures & Dsear assessments of all raw materials and chemicals used at Glenbervie and Tannochside.
  • Collect, update, and maintain all planned task observation data within all standard operating procedures.
  • Collect, update, and maintain all risk assessments conducted by all sections within the business.
  • Create, maintain, and record all purchase requisitions, purchase orders and posting proposals for the SHE department.
  • Maintain stock levels of first aid equipment, PPE, and emergency equipment for Glenbervie and Tannochside.
  • Create and print signage as required.
  • Report on waste & packaging totals monthly.
  • Create, monitor, and keep up to date all safety related maps for both sites.
  • Co-ordinating all SHE contractors on site.
  • Maintain all safety asset inventories of both sites.
  • Create, organise and maintain all audit related documentation of all sections.
  • Issue toolbox talks weekly.
  • Collaborate with SHE advisors relating to compliance and SHE system flow.
  • Any other task as required from time to time.

  • Experience of safety in a food manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • IT literate, with the ability to use Microsoft Office Package.
  • Should be able to work analytically and in a structured manner, both independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team.
  • To work with minimal supervision, taking responsibility for organising personal workloads, setting personal goals and maintaining appropriate levels of quality.
