Full Job Description

Position 2 - 6 Sessions

Rothes Medical Practice has an exciting opportunity to expand our current team. We are looking for a GP (either salaried or a partner) to work as part of our existing friendly and exceptional multidisciplinary team for 2 6 sessions per week. We currently have 4 GP Partners and 2 ANPs within the team. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual with good interpersonal and communication skills to join our practice and we would be happy to speak further with anyone interested in this position. We are willing to wait for the right candidate. With its new-town planning, green spaces and tree-lined roads, Glenrothes is a pleasant place to work and easily commutable from Dundee, Perth and Edinburgh. Our practice is well organised, with a tight boundary meaning we can efficiently serve our 8800 patients. Surgeries consist of 15 minute appointment slots and can be either face to face or telephone. At the end of every morning surgery our team meet for tea and coffee. We have a focus on ensuring work-load is shared equitably and have monthly educational meetings and a weekly business meeting. Our own full time Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is an excellent resource, managing chronic mental health reviews, providing counselling and therapy services, liaising with secondary care and handling acute crisis episodes. In addition to our own staff, we have support from a SCOTGEM trainer GP, and Health Board allocations of Pharmacy Team, TR Nurse, Health Care Support Worker and Mental Health Nurse support (over and above our practice employed practitioner) under the new contract. Our administration and reception team are efficient and friendly; signposting appointments and carrying out DOCMAN correspondence management to help reduce the GPs administrative workload. We are a paper light practice, using EMIS and DOCMAN.
