Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic , efficient and  motivated Staff Nurse to become part of our Oban, Lorn & Isles Children and Families Health Team.

 

This post holder will work in partnership with all members of the Children and Families Health Team,  child health, CAMHS, Education and council partners.    You will have responsibility for

assisting in the delivery of  aspects of the health visiting and school nursing pathways as well as general paediatric nursing duties including child health screening, delivery of health improvement  programmes, early and effective intervention and immunisation programmes.  

Under the management and supervision of the Child Health Team Manager  you will be required to manage your time and workload and have the ability to liaise effectively with multi professionals and agencies.   Accordingly, your interpersonal  and communication skills must be of the highest order.


It is essential that you are a NMC registered Nurse  preferably with a degree or working towards this qualification.  You should be able to evidence your continuing professional development while also evidencing your ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. You should have excellent IT, processing, communication, leadership and problem solving skills.

 

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively to variou work locations throughout NHS Highland Argyll & Bute HSCP

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
