Full Job Description
We are seeking to appoint a School and Teaching Coordinator within the School of Geography and Sustainable Development. Working closely with the School Manager and academic teaching leads, the post holder will provide pro-active and effective management to ensure the smooth operation of the delivery of teaching and student-facing activities across the School. Teaching Coordinator As Teaching Coordinator, the role holder will liaise closely with the Director of Teaching, Director of Postgraduate Taught and Director of Postgraduate Research to support the operational delivery of student-facing business within the School. School Coordinator The key support function as School Coordinator will be to manage the School office and support building operations, Health and Safety and School projects in collaboration with the School Manager, Head of School and FLAG (Field and Lab Advisory Group). The role will undertake line management for the Administrative Teaching Team (UG, PGT, PGR) and School Administrator, supporting the management of workloads and personnel. Exceptional organisational, administrative and communication skills are essential for this post. You will be a strong team player with good interpersonal skills, a self-starter who is able to plan, organise and prioritise workloads in a busy and fast-paced environment. In fulfilling the role, you will be expected to proactively and positively liaise with students and staff across the School of Geography and Sustainable Development, as well as represent the School in wider university initiatives. The post holder reports to the School Manager and is expected to be supportive of change and to adopt a flexible and cooperative approach to improvement in operations and the provision of administrative support in the School.
