£21,491 - £23,090 (30 Hours per week, Term-time only)
Bertha Park High School, Perth

An opportunity has arisen to join our technical support team as a Technician at Bertha Park High School.  The successful candidate will spend most of their time supporting the science department with additional whole school duties. 

Your main duty within this role is to support in the delivery and management of chemicals, materials and equipment for lessons in the science department.  This can include topping up kits, making fresh chemicals, providing microbiology supplies and helping in classroom demonstrations.  

Other duties relating to this role would be the provision of whole school support.  This can include photocopier and printer maintenance, helping staff with basic classroom IT equipment and liaising with IT to arrange repairs and/or maintenance. 

Hours of work are 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday term time plus 10 days.  There is no expectation to work overtime, however some opportunities may arise to assist with after school events. 

You will encounter the public, so we expect you to treat everyone with kindness, dignity and respect.

The Individual

This post requires you to be familiar with COSHH regulations and the safe handling of chemicals.

 Ideally you will hold either an SVQ level 3 or SCQF Level 6 in Science or equivalent qualification.

We are looking for someone who will be highly motivated, enthusiastic with a polite, friendly and professional manner.   

You must be able to cope with the demands of the job and work well within a team using effective communication and collaboration with colleagues. 

Ideally you will have a willingness for participating in whole school events or getting involved in some way with our young people, as a school we encourage all staff within the building to participate in events around the school.
