Full Job Description

The Deputy Manager plays a pivotal role in the efficient operation of the business by providing support to the Store Manager and assuming responsibility in their absence. This role requires an individual with exceptional leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. The Deputy Manager will oversee various departments and with specific areas of responsibilities assigned to them which will be tailored to the individual store requirements. They will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the store, while also addressing challenges and opportunities as they arise.,

  • Assume the duties of the Store Manager in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations and adherence to society policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
  • Monitor the performance of the staff, providing coaching and feedback as necessary to enhance productivity and customer service.
  • Manage stock levels and availability to optimise the sales opportunity while controlling waste.
  • Implement and enforce Health and Safety requirements and standards to maintain a secure and hazard-free environment for customers and staff.
  • Oversee the implementation of promotional activities and make it simple initiatives, driving revenue growth and process improvement and efficiencies.
  • Resolve customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and professional manner, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional service.
  • Monitoring KPI's, investigating issues and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Stay informed about community engagement opportunities and competitor activities, providing insights to support decision-making.
  • To ensure that we comply with alcohol licensing legislation applicants must be aged 18 or over and will ideally be eligible to become a Personal Licence Holder, and as you may be positioned within a store with a Post Office, you will be required to successfully complete Post Office Limited's security and background checking processes.
