Please note that the advertised salary for this position is subject to a pending pay award. The final salary will be adjusted in line with the nationally agreed pay award. We are looking for a highly motivated and pro-active individual with excellent communication skills to join our busy and supportive Democratic Services Team. The post holder will provide support and advice to the Council's Overview and Scrutiny functions, undertake the training and development programme for Members, assist with the promotion of the Council's democratic processes and assist the Monitoring Officer with the functions relating to the Ethics and Standards Committee. Our key functions include: + Corporate Service Support: PA and Administrative support; Business support including project management and minute taking. + Democratic Services: Councillors; Council, Cabinet, Overview and Scrutiny Committees and Regulatory Committees. + Electoral Services: General and local elections; Management of electoral register. + Communications Team: Manage communication activities corporately; support services in campaigns and projects; deal with the press and media; develop and issue press releases; manage social media pages. + Translation: Documents and simultaneous translation. + Welsh Language Standards: Operational; Policy making; Promotion; Monitoring; Service delivery.
