Full Job Description

  • Providing technical and business consultancy services to farmers and landowners in the Scottish Borders

  • Working as a team to motivate, support and develop each other as a team,

  • Building strong relationships with the farming and local community, suppliers, and industry bodies

  • Building trust and rapport with colleagues and customers

  • Being initiative-taking and engaged with the development of wider SAC services, working with your regional consulting and academic colleagues.

  • Execution of project work funded both internally and externally.

  • Representing SAC Consulting and SRUC professionally at meetings, events, and farming groups

  • Creating a work climate that encourages innovative ideas and solutions for customers.

  • Identifying and developing business opportunities

    SAC Consulting is seeking a senior agricultural consultant to join our St Boswells team on a full-time permanent basis. You will join a team of five consultants to deliver advice to farmers and land managers in Roxburghshire centred around the rural towns of Kelso and Jedburgh. The successful candidate will need to be versatile and be willing to be involved in a range of Consultancy services., + Significant practical post graduate experience in agriculture is required.

  • + Agricultural or Environmental Degree or equivalent with experience.
    + Competent user of Microsoft software including Windows, Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
    + Proven effective written and verbal communication skills.
    + Full driving licence and own transport
    + Ability to travel away from home base when required.
    + Flexibility in the range of work undertaken.
    The successful candidate will be educated to SCQF Level 8 or above in Agriculture or equivalent rural or science based qualification., Disability Confident
