Full Job Description

We are actively recruiting for a Senior Associate to join our Procurement team.

You will advise on a broad cross section of high profile and high value work in the public and utilities sectors. You will act for Central Government departments and other major Government agencies, large local and regional authorities, national utilities across sectors including transport, energy and water, universities and charities, as well as private sector parties in their interaction with these bodies.

You will have the opportunity to work as an integral part of cross-practice, collaborative teams on large projects, as well as taking more responsibility for standalone matters. You will have an active engagement with clients and colleagues across the business, as well as being involved in the team's business development activities. You will also work closely with our specialist procurement litigators and have the opportunity to support on complaints and challenge work., This is a particularly exciting time to join our team as a Procurement lawyer as the legal landscape is imminently about to change as a result of implementation of the Procurement Act 2023. We are looking for:

  • You will have experience of working on public and utility procurement matters.

  • Experience of advising private sector bidders on public procurement would also be beneficial.

  • Experience of subsidy control/State aid and or public sector governance would be of interest, but is not a requirement.

  • Exposure to business development activities would be an advantage.

  • You will possess strong technical skills and academic qualifications.

  • You will ideally have at least 4 years post qualification experience. However, we are happy to hear from anyone who believes they have the required skills to be a success.
