Full Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Senior Biomedical Sceitnst in Histology based at University Hospital Crosshouse., As Senior BMS you will be responsible under the direction of the Chief BMS and accountable to the Pathology Laboratory Manager to ensure the departmental quality management system (QMS) is implemented and maintained.
You will be involved in Audit and help the Quality lead ensure the Audit schedule is maintained.
The department processes approx. 25k histology samples per annum and also provides diagnostic cytology, semenology and immunocytochemistry services.
We have recently expanded our digital pathology which we would expect the post holder to have involvement in., Some of our vacancies are for internal candidates only . You must be an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist, qualified to MSc degree level or equivalent. You will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, organisational, training skills and must have experience of managing staff, experience and evidence as a band 6 specialist BMS is required.
