Senior Bridge Engineer

Job Title – Senior/Principal Engineer

Location – Glasgow

Job Type – Permanent

Our client is looking for a Senior/Principal Engineer to join their Rail & Civils team in the vibrant city of Glasgow.

The portfolio of work includes a variety of projects including rail station footbridges, road bridges, coastal defences, and large-scale UK wide infrastructure projects.

The role requires someone who can take responsibility for their own work and is prepared to apply themselves to a range of projects drawing on their own experiences and support from the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare calculations and documentation for engineering projects.
• Liaise with other members of the design team to achieve a co-ordinated design.
• Undertake analysis and design using a range of software packages including finite element analysis such as LUSAS or Midas.
• Develop design and co-ordination skills to progress as an Engineer.
• Undertake client relationship management.
• Taking a lead role in the resolution of technical issues

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

• Degree in civil engineering
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer professional status, or equivalent
• Substantial structural design experience within the bridges sector and in a consultancy environment
• New bridges design experience
• Have previous relevant site experience including supervision of elements of large, complex bridge engineering projects
• Excellent communication skills including technical written English
• Experience preparing design deliverables using civil engineering design software packages
• LUSAS software experience
