Full Job Description

We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Senior Technician with experience in Revit and / or Civil 3D to join our Energy Infrastructure team in either Manchester, Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Our energy infrastructure teams are recognised industry leaders and operate across several markets within the diverse landscape of energy generation and distribution.

We work for a range of clients including energy developers, operators, and contractors. We use the latest design software and techniques to produce innovative and efficient design solutions for our clients.

What does the role involve?

As a Senior Technician you will be reporting to the Senior Technician but working under limited supervision while performing complex technical work.

You will also contribute to methods of work-flow coordination where required. Key duties and responsibilities include :

  • Creation of 3D models in Revit / Civil 3D, including reviewing setup and management of models.

  • Production of 2D drawings for issue.

  • Ensuring BIM standards and quality of modelled information meets our client's requirements.

  • Providing technical guidance, support and training to colleagues and assist, where practicable, in mentoring and development of others.

  • Taking responsibility for the quality of BIM Models and any outputs produced., Sweco UK&I have an internal resourcing team who are responsible for all recruiting activity. We have a Preferred Supplier List of trusted agencies who we work with on those hard to fill roles.


  • We have defined processes for recruitment applications and it is company policy not to accept speculative CVs. Any speculative CVs received into the business (whether to a manager or member of the resourcing team) will become the property of Sweco and the agency will not be eligible for an introductory fee.

    Our Preferred Supplier List was reviewed in December 2023 and we are not looking to add any additional agencies. We'll be reviewing the PSL again at the end of 2024 and non-compliance with the above statements could be detrimental to you having the opportunity to be included.

  • Proven experience in Revit and / or Civil 3D

  • Experience in Navisworks and BIM360 (desirable but not essential).

  • Experience of federating models and coordination management in a Navisworks environment (desirable but not essential).

  • Proven experience of the preparation of BIM models including output documentation.

  • The ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with other team members and to converse with external members of the Design Team either verbally or by email when required.
