Full Job Description

I am currently seeking a Senior CAD Technician with a strong understanding of construction drawing practices and experience with CAD systems, particularly AutoCAD to join and employee-owned engineering consultancy.

The successful candidate will receive in-house training specific to the engineering and drawing requirements in the railway sector.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in delivering civil and structural engineering models and drawings.
  • AutoCAD Skills: Practical experience with AutoCAD for structural steelwork and civil engineering drawings.
  • Reinforced Concrete Drawings: Experience in creating reinforced concrete drawings and schedules.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team.
  • Self-Checking: Ability to self-check and ensure quality control in all deliverables.
  • Motivation & Time Management: Self-motivated, diligent, and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Numeracy & Computer Skills: Strong numeracy and proficient computer skills.

Desirable but not Essential:

  • Software Experience: Familiarity with Civils 3D or Bentley MicroStation.
  • Data Environments: Experience with common data environments such as Bentley ProjectWise.
  • BIM Knowledge: Understanding of UK BIM Framework and ISO 19650 standards.
  • CADS RC Software: Experience with CADS RC or CADS-RC3D.
  • Highway Design: Experience in highway design.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/D qualification or similar level of education.
