Full Job Description

The Senior Charge Midwife / Nurse carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care within the Neonatal Unit.

The Senior Charge Midwife / Nurse will be lead on service development across all categories of care taking overall responsibility in the provision of safe and skilled care.

This is inclusive of emergency deliveries within the intra-partum care setting and neonatal emergencies within the maternity unit as well as within the NNU.

The Senior Charge Midwife / Nurse is responsible for the management of the nursing and midwifery team, the allocated departmental resources and budget to ensure the delivery and maintenance of high quality clinical standards and the efficient running of the services., Some of our vacancies are for internal candidates only . First Level NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN or RN Child) or RM with wide post registration experience.

Educated to degree level with evidence of continuous professional development or Equivalent professional experience.

Successful completion of a recognised course in Neonatal Qualified in Speciality.
