NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is permanent, part-time post of 34 hours per week, with a rotational shift pattern.
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
You must be a registered nurse, registered childs nurse or registered midwife.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to Join the Neonatal Nursing team within the Neonatal Unit at The Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. The Neonatal Unit provides Level 2 care to patients and their families within Greater Glasgow and Clyde areas and work in collaboration with other Neonatal Units across the NHSGGC areas.
As an experienced Senior Charge Nurse/Midwife and part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programs of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients.
In the absence of the Designated Senior Charge Nurse, you will deputise to provide cover to ensure the effective operation of the clinical area, Taking charge and running shift in the designates absence.
Experience in the field of Neonatal nursing is essential. The post holder will hold a recognised qualification in Neonatal Nursing. Leadership qualifications are desirable but not essential, however experience in running a shift or taking charge is an essential requirement.
You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to family-centred care, continuing professional development, an understanding of the neonatal service, and the specific needs of our patients and their families here at RAH NNU.
You must be able to demonstrate evidence of ongoing clinical development and show sound knowledge and understanding of NHSGGC policies, procedures and strategies.
