Senior Charge Nurse / Senior ODP

An exciting opportunity has arisen in NHS Tayside, Ninewells Theatres for a Band 7 Senior Charge Nurse. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual to use their leadership skills and join our multidisciplinary team within the Operating Departments in NHS Tayside.    You will have theatre experience at a senior level and be able to demonstrate on-going professional development.

You will provide professional and clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, and will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and effective management of the service by planning and implementing patient centred care, and for the setting of standards of care. You will be primarily responsible for ensuring the theatre lists run smoothly by co-ordinating activity on a daily basis.

You should be RGN or ODP qualified and possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to work cohesively within the multidisciplinary team and have evidence of strong leadership and negotiation skills.

Hours of work:  37.5 per week with a commitment to day / night rotation and on call if required.

The successful applicant will be based at the above mentioned site but may be required to vary their workplace within the area covered by NHS Tayside, as required.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
