Full Job Description

NRL’s prestigious client based in Renfrew, has an opportunity for a Senior Civil/Structural to join them on a longterm contract basis - Inside IR35. 

About the role:

  • Deliver accurate and high-quality civil and structural design documentation.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and client requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with project teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in civil and structural engineering.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the design team.
  • To support the civil and structural engineering and design activities for projects.
  • To develop skills and knowledge in civil and structural engineering through practical experience and mentorship.
  • To contribute to delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions within the project team.
  • Developing and preparing detailed civil and structural design documents, including layouts, modelling and drawings.
  • Support Principal/Lead engineer in reviewing and checking design deliverables.
  • Participate in site visits and surveys to gather information for design development.
  • Engage with cross-disciplinary teams and clients to ensure project milestones are met efficiently and safely.
  • Generate design deliverables in order to meet project requirements and schedule.
  • Uphold the highest standards of quality and safety in line with industry regulations.
  • Contribute to identifying and delivering work process improvements.

What you will need?

  • HND in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline and experience.
  • Relevant experience in design software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • A self-starter who can also thrive in team settings.
  • A commitment to ethical and professional standards.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for engineering and continuous personal development.
  • Good knowledge of civil and structural design principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in using relevant design and analysis software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.

SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • Familiarity with E3D and AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Understanding of materials and construction processes used in civil and structural engineering.
