Full Job Description

The Group Data Office (GDO) at Royal London enhances data use across the organization, covering Data Governance, Management, Strategy, Analytics/AI, and Insight. We set and oversee data policies and standards to align with the Group's risk appetite.,

  • Senior role in the Data Modelling team, mentoring less experienced members, and overseeing multiple data modelling/design engagements across the EDP.
  • Applies extensive data modelling knowledge (conceptual, logical, and physical) and physical warehouse data structure design within an Agile environment.
  • Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities effectively.
  • Chairs data model design review sessions, maintains data modelling standards, and ensures compliance.
  • Defines data mapping and transformations, collaborates with data engineers, SMEs, and technical BAs, and presents to the Data Design Authority on data modelling/design topics.

    Extensive experience in all levels of data modelling (conceptual, logical, and physical) and various modern data design approaches (relational, dimensional, data-vault, de-normalised big table).
  • Skilled in using data modelling tools (Idera ER/Studio, Erwin or similar), expert level SQL skills, ETL\Data pipeline exposure (Azure Data Factory or Qlik).
  • Strong track record in data modelling for complex, multi-vendor programs and matrix-led engagements.
  • Focused on delivering business value, balancing design purity with practical value delivery.
  • Excellent ability to explain complex data modelling and design concepts to both technical teams and senior non-technical stakeholders.
