Royal London seeks an experienced Data Modeller to join our team, focusing on data structure design for our Azure Databricks Data Lakehouse. You'll work on the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) using the Databricks Medallion architecture, contributing to the 'silver' and 'gold' layers. This role offers a unique opportunity your data modelling skills in a cutting-edge, cloud-based environment.

About the Role

-Senior role in the Data Modelling team, mentoring less experienced members, and overseeing multiple data modelling/design engagements across the EDP.
-Applies extensive data modelling knowledge (conceptual, logical, and physical) and physical warehouse data structure design within an Agile environment.
-Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities effectively.
-Chairs data model design review sessions, maintains data modelling standards, and ensures compliance.
-Defines data mapping and transformations, collaborates with data engineers, SMEs, and technical BAs, and presents to the Data Design Authority on data modelling/design topics.

About You

-Extensive experience in all levels of data modelling (conceptual, logical, and physical) and various modern data design approaches (relational, dimensional, data-vault, de-normalised big table).
-Skilled in using data modelling tools (Idera ER/Studio, Erwin or similar), expert level SQL skills, ETL/Data pipeline exposure (Azure Data Factory or Qlik).
-Strong track record in data modelling for complex, multi-vendor programs and matrix-led engagements.
-Focused on delivering business value, balancing design purity with practical value delivery.
-Excellent ability to explain complex data modelling and design concepts to both technical teams and senior non-technical stakeholders.
