No one knows more about or has better access to the data that underpins Scotlands thriving property markets. Registering over 500,000 property transactions a year generates huge amounts of information over which economic analysis will be beneficial to our business and forward planning capabilities. You will work within a team of experts and specialists who are responsible for our official and national property statistics, customer policy, customer insight and research work. You will be required to provide wider macro and micro economic insights, compile forecasts to help improve our market analysis, income modelling and our future financial planning.Your role will also be to support the exciting new work and business development activities we are undertaking not only across our current services, but also through our Geovation investment and the proptech market. This post also offers the opportunity to work with other public sector economists. You will be an ambassador for the organisation and must be prepared to do media interviews. You will build relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders working highly effectively with your partner senior leaders covering our commercial services, financial activities, business planning and analysis, to achieve the evolution of the statutory and non-statutory services we provide and grow RoS reputation., Your main duties will include: Identify opportunities to inform and enhance our performance across RoS services. Review and recommend opportunities to enhance the impact and uptake of our official statistics. Develop wider sources of relevant economic data. Utilise our and others economic data to enhance our market forecasting and financial modelling and support analysis to identify correlation of key factors. Work with the Customer and Business Development leadership team to identify and maximise where economic analysis can augment our services. Work with the Business Development leadership team to identify and provide economic analysis to support business decision on future products and services. Work with the Data and Analytics team to improve forecasts, modelling and trend analysis. Work with the Finance team to improve market forecasting and our income modelling Actively build and maintain a network of colleagues and contacts internally and externally to ensure the maximum benefit of an economic function in RoS. Support the development of our customer insight team and the data captured. Bachelors degree in economics or equivalent/relevant experience. Experience in a senior role, ideally in the property sector.
