Job Purpose: The postholder will undertake and support activities and projects that contribute towards both the Council’s and the wider region’s transition towards net zero emissions, in accordance with relevant statutory requirements, as well as national and local policy. The post holder will have particular responsibility to provide expertise and support with respect to the transition of the Council’s property portfolio to Net Zero.

Requirements

Appropriate energy related qualification or experience, and will ideally be seeking progression to Chartered Engineer status

Evidence of higher education, and preferably educated to degree level in an energy-related discipline.

Evidence of a continuing commitment to personal development

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a role which required good theoretical and practical / applied understanding of technical energy and climate change issues.

Willing to be flexible about travel for work and training purposes
