Full Job Description

  • To carry out professional engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and completion activities in a competent and efficient manner whilst ensuring that the technical and safety integrity of engineering being performed is maintained at all times.

  • Ensure project deliverables are generated using Aker Solutions systems and tools.

  • Review, check the work of others and be responsible for their performance within their discipline / function.

  • Compilation of weekly reports on progress via project tools where applicable.

  • Execute the workscopes assigned, safely, on time, in budget and ensure the technical integrity of the installation from the construction perspective.

  • Accountable for the effective administration and implementation of Management of Change.

  • Preparation of cost and time/man-hour estimates via Aker Solutions Systems where applicable.

  • Planning, co-ordination and execution of the groups work activities.

  • Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues.

  • Liasing supporting the construction and commissioning personnel and teams onshore and offshore.

  • Responsible for the implementation/improvement of company construction, commissioning and HSE Procedures.

  • Input into the management of mobilisation and logistics.

  • Ensure that all hire plant and equipment have full certification requirements and is controlled cost effectively.

  • Co-ordinate preservation of equipment and keep records of same.

  • Ensure compliance with PUWER .

  • Actively take part in problem analyses, report and recommend to Project Manager areas requiring special attention and corrective actions.

  • Oversee Lifting/ LOLER planning and execution.

  • Third Party/ Vendor Control management

  • Deputize for the Lead engineer i.e. provision of holiday, sickness cover when required or as delegated by the Lead engineer.

  • Active participate in HAZOP, design reviews and other relevant safety reviews.

  • Develop an understanding and ensure a good PEM knowledge of work processes and tools/systems (e-learning training will be given) within the discipline and give PEM introduction/training and discipline training as required.

    HNC/HND /City and Guilds level or University civil engineering degree or relevant education with 5 to 7 years experience in front end studies, FEED and/or EPCI projects from energy sector.

  • Strong commitment to HSE and safety.

  • Experience in participation in HAZOP/HAZID reviews

  • Solution oriented with good communication and collaboration skills

  • Knowledge of Legislation applicable to construction (DCR, LOLER etc.)

  • Strong work ethics and a proactive attitude

  • The ability to train and mentor discipline engineers

  • A commercial mindset, good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • The ability to see solutions together with meeting customer expectations and requirements

  • The competency to be accurate, flexible and organized

  • Willing to work in a hybrid structure with regular visits to the primary office as well as offshore / site visits
