Full Job Description

The First Line of Defence (1LOD) Financial Crime team has oversight of all Financial Crime activity for the banks Personal Customers, covering the four Financial Crime Risk Areas of Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Sanctions and Tax Evasion. A successful candidate will ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and the bank's internal Policies and Policy Standards. Role and Responsibilities Main Duties :

  • Accountable for the development and maintenance of an ongoing assessment of Financial Crime risk and controls ensuring that the Business and its key stakeholders have full clarity of the control landscape and priority exposures
  • Responsible for supporting the Financial Crime Risk Appetite Statement and the bank's Personal Customer Threat Matrix, with ongoing insights from internal & external intelligence and crystallised exposures, such that a real-time feedback loop is implemented and embedded into the ongoing Control assessment and strategic prioritisation
  • Driving Strategic and tactical priorities both for the team and wider partners or stakeholders based on robust and continuous oversight and challenge of risk & control
  • Leadership and support of ongoing Financial Crime Risk & Control activity

    Experience and understanding of Financial Services and products or projects with a high level of regulatory scrutiny, with an in-depth knowledge of trends affecting the business
  • Experience of working in 1LOD within a Financial Crime setting
  • Strong experience of working and leading a Risk & Control management function / framework including working with and complying with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) or equivalent framework
  • Ability to provide thought leadership - strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data, MI and business challenges and make recommendations and decisions
  • Experienced in dealing with multiple stakeholders in different business functions who have different objectives e.g. Internal Audit, Risk, Financial Crime, Compliance, Fraud, Legal
  • Exceptional planning and communication / presentation skills (both written and verbal)
  • Exceptional stakeholder management
  • Leadership and management experience
  • Preferred Qualifications :
  • Experience of working in a Financial Crime risk environment
  • Experience of interpreting compliance and operational procedures and processes, translating into operational processes and controls, Financial Crime risk and controls Internal Audit Compliance, Fraud, Legal
