Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is Mon-Sun.

(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Medical Assessment  Unit at the Vale of Leven for a band 3 HCSW. We are looking for caring, hardworking individuals to join our team and provide a high standard of care within this busy medical environment involving many specialties.

You will:

  • Assist in the delivery of person centred care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse.  
  • Assist the Multidisciplinary team to provide a high quality, safe and supportive standard of care to meet the needs of those patients admitted into the acute setting.
  • Assist patients with all activities of daily living and demonstrate a caring and compassionate approach to your work.

Suitable candidates should be able to: 

  • Work in a fast paced environment preferably with experience of working in a care setting.
  • Effective communication skills/literacy/ numeracy skills are required for this post, venepuncture skills would be advantageous.  
  • Must be able to work a flexible shift pattern.
