An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Healthcare Support Worker based at University Hospital Crosshouse.

What you will do :

CAU is an area of current service development and design incorporating exciting process changes, fast paced changes and many wide and varied opportunities.

The Senior Healthcare Support Worker is a pivotal role within CAU and the role can change throughout a shift with support from senior staff.

In collaboration with the shift coordinator and Senior Charge Nurse, the post holder will be able to adjust to the requirements of very different care areas, these are Initial Assessment, Ambulatory Care Area, Rapid Assessment and Care Area (RAC) and Acute Medical In-patient Area.

Knowledge, training and / or experience required to do the job :

You must understand the different streams of care, and adapt to the different needs of the patients in these streams.

You must be able to identify acutely unwell adults and report to the relevant responsible nurse.

You must be able to prioritise your workload and work closely with registered nurse but also with minimal supervision to achieve the shift requirements and ensure patient safety and quality of care.

You will be actively supported with opportunities to grow and develop your skill set to increase your knowledge base and actively seek out experiential learning.
