Job Description

Supported Housing – Senior Housing Development Officer

West Dunbartonshire Council has an ambitious strategy for meeting housing needs and addressing homelessness through developing sustainable housing solutions for our communities. This includes the implementation of our Rapid Re-housing Transition Plan “Home at the Heart”, a key aspect of which is a review of our Residential Supported Accommodation provision for homeless households in West Dunbartonshire.

This key piece of work means we have an exciting opportunity within the Housing Development and Homeless Team helping deliver the key recommendations of the review of Residential Supported Accommodation. This is a fixed term contract of 24 months. The main tasks will be driving forward the key changes but will also be working with the others within the team on rapid rehousing/homeless prevention policies and strategies. We are looking for a high-quality individual to lead on the delivery of the recommendations from this review who will bring added value to a young dynamic Housing Development and Homelessness Team.

The position will require you to work with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to shape and implement policies and solutions that will meet our stated objectives. You will have a commitment to achieving best value and meeting wider cross service outcomes, strong written and verbal communication skills, project management experience and enjoy working as part of a team.

West Dunbartonshire Council offers a family friendly working environment, endeavours to ensure a work life balance and welcomes applications from employees requiring flexibility. This is a hybrid role which means only partial time in the office but predominantly working from home.

If you are a dedicated housing professional with a relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification and have experience working in a strategic housing environment with an innovative and can do approach to delivering sustainable housing solutions, we look forward to receiving your application.
