Full Job Description

Anderson Knight are recruiting an experienced Senior HR Adviser to join our clients team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will help to lead and mentor a small HR team and partner closely with senior leaders and managers to drive strategic HR initiatives and ensure effective people management across the business.


This position is full time, office based with travel to different locations within Scotland.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead a small HR team, including HR Advisers & HR Administrators, ensuring efficient and effective HR service delivery across the organisation.
  • Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with directors and operational managers, offering HR guidance and support to align people strategies with business goals.
  • Provide expert HR advice to managers on best practices, current employment law, and company policies, ensuring compliance and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Support line managers in driving high performance, engagement, and feedback through robust leadership and performance management practices.
  • Partner with senior management to manage key people metrics, including retention, absence management, recruitment, and casework, ensuring alignment with internal SLAs and organisational objectives.

What We’re Looking For:


  • Proven experience in an HR business partner or people operations role, with the ability to lead a team and manage a broad range of HR responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, best practices, and HR policies, with the ability to provide practical, actionable advice to managers.
  • Experience in managing employee relations (ER), absence, and performance management, along with knowledge of HR systems and administration.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • A proactive and results-driven approach, with a focus on delivering business objectives through effective people management and HR strategy.
