Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. 

This is a part-time post of 19 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours. 

This is a fixed-term post of 2 years.

The successful candidate will be able to evidence relevant training, education and experience, and will be educated to and/or operate at Degree Level, with a post graduate qualification in IPC or working towards this.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, to join our Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Team currently based at QEUH with a remit for QEUH, Gartnavel General Hospital and Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre but will be required to work with other IPCTs within NHSGGC. The post holder will work closely with the Lead Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to assist with the management of the sector IPC service on all matters relating to the prevention and control of infection by providing strategic direction and advice to NHSGGC. The post holder will provide leadership, supervision and clinical supervision to the IPC Nurses within the team. Closing date for applications: 2 weeks from date of advert.
