Full Job Description
This is a fixed-term post (6 months) to support the implementation of a new reading lists solution for the Library., This is an exciting time to join the University of St Andrews Libraries and Museums as a Senior Library Assistant (Academic Liaison). The Unit is currently implementing a new Library Management System and embedded Reading Lists solution which will help to transform the digital services we provide. The successful candidate will assist the Academic Liaison Team in the provision of an effective online reading list service. The postholder will support the day-to-day management of the reading list mailbox, dealing with enquiries from academic staff and assessing the level of work required with each reading list. A key duty of this role will be to contribute to decision making to ensure the improved availability of module readings, a prime requirement in the library's mission to improve the student experience. You will be able to work alone and as part of a team. It is essential that you are able to work under pressure to targets and deadlines while maintaining close attention to detail. You will also need a flexible and customer-oriented approach and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and the academic community.
