Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be exclusively working with a privately owned, business to recruit an experienced Senior Management Accountant into this full time position based in Aberdeenshire.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Finance Director you will work closely with the transactional team and support with all aspect of the finance function. In summary, your role will include:

• Prepare monthly management accounts
• Prepare the external audit pack
• Supervision of the transactional accounting team of two
• Update the fixed asset register, posting applicable journals
• Update and revalue stock
• Process WIP to COS journals
• Budget preparation (PL cashflow)
• Support and monitor the purchasing process, expenses payments and supplier due diligence and vendor management
• Bank reconciliations
• Oversight of invoicing and credit control
• Update prepayments and accruals
• Update the hire purchase register
• Payroll processing (holiday cover)
• Ad hoc projects as required to support the senior leadership team
• Develop and enhance business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls

Background and Experience

You will be an experienced, qualified Management Accountant (ACCA/CA/CIMA) or qualified by experience with strong technical skills and proven track record of accounts preparation. Our client will consider applications from individuals with relevant experience within an SME. You will have the ability to work as part of a team, achieving deadlines and interacting with key stakeholders. Proficiency with spreadsheets is essential.
