Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior Nature & Biodiversity Manager to join our team in our London, Edinburgh, or Alderley Edge office on an initial 12-month fixed term contract. You will provide leadership, expertise and focus on what is a critical area of strategic change, with the ambition of embedding the required shift into the DNA of the business; to help enable the business to incorporate nature and biodiversity considerations and sustainable outcomes into business decision-making and organisational practices. You will do this by developing the Group's strategy and roadmap for nature and biodiversity and how we integrate that into our climate strategy and existing structures. You will shape the strategy centred on supporting our Purpose outcomes to play our part in moving fairly to a sustainable world and building financial resilience. About the role

  • To lead the development of Royal London Group's strategy and roadmap for nature & biodiversity including how we integrate that into our climate strategy and existing structures.
  • To build the Group's understanding through research, external engagement and data/tools and identify impacts, dependencies, risks and opportunities.
  • To provide strategic oversight of nature risks and opportunities across the Group and develop the Group's response to, and reporting on nature-related matters, aligned with the relevant regulatory and voluntary nature-related commitments (CSRD, TNFD, ISSB, etc).
  • To develop tools and methodologies to support nature risk and opportunities identification, monitoring and management and data reporting requirements.
  • To support business teams in the integration of nature and biodiversity considerations.
  • To take a leading role in enabling Royal London to meet nature and biodiversity requirements within its climate and other sustainability reporting and disclosure requirements as well as internal reporting and governance.
  • To provide subject matter expertise and coaching on emerging external trends in relation to data, regulation, policy and market practice on nature in investments.

    Knowledge of financial services sector, with strong understanding of investment processes.
  • Strong understanding of nature and biodiversity preferably in relation to financial services.
  • Strong networking, writing and presentation skills.
  • Passionate about sustainability, particularly nature and biodiversity.
  • Capable of building strong external relationships with regulatory, policy and other industry stakeholders.
  • Confident communicator.
